Hi....

Post by Raj » Wed Sep 22, 2010 12:22 am

Hi all,

Like finnie (hi matey), I've just gone from an E60 M5 (oh I miss her) to an E53 4.8is

You can tell I don't worry too much about my carbon footprint.....lol

I'm a moderator on EvoTecknik.net and know Jason (BWChiptune) and a few others here quite well.

I love modding cars and have owned a few different cars over the years. Had my old 330d sport featured in Performance BMW and may try to get the 4.8 featured once I'm finished with it.

Here is the M5:

It had a few mods done.

Here is the new ride though (bit dirty in these pics):

Here's a pic of her at Santa Pod on Sunday:

Hope you like.

Have started modding her and have plenty more plans.

Welcome to the forum Raj. Some nice cars and can see you have already started on the X5... black grilles. One comment though on the X - Get rid of the //M badges on the doors.

Did you run at Santa Pod?

Cheers. I am liking the whole 4x4 thing. Never really appealed before. This is a great all rounder though, with power, space and kudos.

Don't worry the ///M badges will most definitely be removed. For some reason the original owner spec'ed them... :o just haven't had time to remove them yet.

Mods so far: black grilles with colour coded surround, cf badges, new steering wheel, AE v3 White bulbs for the halos, hid fogs, complete led interior light kit & 20mm spacers all round.

Cheers for the welcome.

Plans, hmmmm, plans...

Well, brakes are first on the agenda. There is just no feel from the stock setup. And when you apply the brakes, it's like there is nothing there until suddenly they bite.

Would love to get a new set of rims....... have seen some 21's but tyres are rare (so costly) and not sure what the ride will be like on them.

Then there is the ICE.... and on and on....lol

Cheers all for the warm welcome. Had a few issues with the air suspension over the last couple of weeks. It's been in and out if the dealer and finally it's all sorted. They ended up replacing air suspension control module, actuator, valve and the compressor itself.... :o

Luckily I know the parts lady very well and the senior service advisor (and now the service manager...lol), so it's ended up costing me £670, which isn't too bad considering the total price should have been over £2k.

Got the front tints done and some led number plate bulbs, so no major movement on the mods.

Proper stage 1 mod will be end of the month and I can't wait.

Interesting about the 22s as I would have thought it would really upset the ride quality going to such small tyre walls as even on the 20s it's just nicely stiff enough for me.
