Lines across sat nav screen on 2007 X5

Advice please , about 6 weeks ago I noticed a couple of dark lines horizontally  across the top of the sat nav screen
6 weeks on I can't read the top of the screen and it's working it way down daily !
New screen or anyone recommend a repair service ....help ! ;)

Could be a loose ribbon cable to the display itself but you'll need to pull the display out to find that.

Have a look on Xoutpost to see if anyone has managed a repair in the US - they usually seem to try things earlier over there.....

Not seen anyone on here refer to a UK repairer (yet) but there may be someone doing them.

Did mine myself - but replaced the screen with a salvaged one. Have a look at thisthread.

You need to get the unit out and take it apart.

Mine went funny all be it a washed out colour and it was literally just the ribbon cable.  Took it out, reseated it and it was fine after that.  It's worth the DIY first off.
