Yup, fitted one a year ago after the OEM 2004 battery died on our E53. Had to get it as an emergency and hence used Halfrauds but self fitted. I don't trust them to take the boot apart!

It was a bit cheaper than that, but not much. No issues at all and just had to do the usual steering lock-lock move to reset the warning lights. Good battery and good warranty. If self-fitting, you can find the battery cheaper, just depends upon how quick you need one.

Thanks x5sport, i have just recently enabled my wabasto heater and it will only fire up and run for 10 min or so i have read it will do that when the battery is on the way out, i also left my ignition on for 1hr when i pluged in my 140 scanner and the battery went flat, so i think its time for a new one as mine is the OEM and like yours my car is a 2004, can you please explain what i have to do to reset the warning lights as i have not heard of moving the steering lock 2 lock, :?

The numerical digit denotes how many years warranty on the battery - if S5 then five years and hopefully the bits inside are better than an S4 or S3, etc.

I have the S4 in mine (since late 2009) for £73 before prices started to rise...

Good choice though!
can you please explain what i have to do to reset the warning lights as i have not heard of moving the steering lock 2 lock, :?
I think the DSC Warning light comes on and to clear it you simply move the steering wheel to full right lock, back to full left lock and then back to centre. As you do so the warning light goes out. Of course it may not come on. Some do and some don't. And you do not need to be moving at more than a very slow walk so you don't strain any steering components (large movements of the steering wheel whilst stationary are baaaaaddddddd!) :D

Fitted the very same battery not so long back  if i can find the thread i can tell you the price.
It was a straight swap for the original one and no error warning lights for me.
Also iirc you need to use the little plug (attached to one of the terminal covers) to bung the breather hole up after fitting the breather pipe to the other side ;)

Old boy, sure the first one is the one. I remember doing that one... (albeit on a 1 series).

Thanks all, things are a bit clearer now i will try eurocarparts for a price in the morning then the supplier that quoted me £125 i don't think i will beat that price unless its on the net,if i buy local then i can take it back under warranty if it goes faulty,i will also be able to claim the 20% Vat back so that should work out not a bad price,

Fitted this exact same battery yesterday.
Bought from carbatteriesonline.co.uk for £94.50 delivered.
No problems at all fitting.
Under the spare wheel you will find a 'dome' covering the battery - all you need to do is undo the bolts of the frame of the dome and lift back and out of the way..rather than remove the dome from the frame. I hope that makes sense!
Undo negative terminal first, followed by positive. When refitting connect positive followed by negative.
Don't forget to use the small bung in one of the terminal covers to plug the vent hole on the negative side of the battery. The positive side is where your existing vent tube will plug into.
Car retained all settings apart from time and date. Clear dsc warnings by gently turning steering lock to lock...
