Oil Sump Plug Torque Setting?

Post by Darnicmax » Fri Aug 05, 2011 11:23 am

Hi

About to do a home oil-change on the X5 (3.0 Diesel)- and was wondering if anyone knows what the BMW recommended torque setting is for 1) the oil sump drain plug and 2) the oil filter housing.

Many thanks!

the sump plug is about 26nm, i know it's not very much because i cracked my sump doing it up too tight, might be worth getting new sump plug before you do it.

The oil filter cover is 25nm, on mine this is clearly visible (written) on the oil filter cover. i`d say the sump plug is
the same, I do both to 25nm and never had any issues .
