Sub Enclosure E53 (the x555 way)

Post by Sanj » Thu Aug 05, 2010 12:52 pm

Another thread that used to be on the old forum…

I have the Hi-Fi speaker upgrade and wanted to finish it off with a sub. I tapped into the existing Harmon Kardon amp and got my amp wiring (Jig is doing a How To on this). But I needed a good sub enclosure to complete the job. This is where x555 and his skills came into this!

I went with my original Infinity Kappa 10” you see in the pictures but that was not perfect for this enclosure. We get a capacity of 10 litres which is ideal for the Focal Polyglass 21V2 8” – credit to Pewters and Jig for finding this.

Image

An expensive sub for only 8” dimensions but this thing is brilliant, true testament to x555s craftmenship! :kissass:

So here’s some pics of his handy work and what it looks like in my car:

What a great job you have done there!! ;)

I've got some drawings for a similar enclosure, but no where near as bespoke as yours. Did you work from drawings or trail and error?? :?

Keeping in tone, BIG UP to the x555, you know your da man for this one. Nice empty boot and lovely sound from the Focal, no complaints. Nice tools man.

Sanj I believe you used one of my pictures, thats copyright infringement, I will see you in court, MODS this boy should be banned he is out of control.

I used the dimensions that i got from a post on x5outpost at first but they didn't work for me so i tweaked it a little here and there...........oh and yes there were plenty of errors on all three designs ;)

I used a similar place fo rthe amp, just behind the bracket for the changer and SatNav. All held in place with my towels - NO COMMENTS required the rest of you!!!
