Re: 2010 30d M Sport - Carbon Black Diary
On my 2012 LCI E70 you can adjust the boot to open the boot struts / dampers to different heights via Carly - you can set to low (hit your head) territory or high, perhaps its just an adjustment which dealer can do as well.

Re: S4NCA Additional heating/ventilation
Do you have a 7seater with the extra row of seats? If so it is the additional climate control fittings for the third row of seats. It is incredibly unusual to find LCI E70s with a Webasto, much more difficult than finding a petrol E53 with a petrol Webasto which was difficult enough when I hunted...

Re: ConnectedDrive - Am I missing something?
Go to the BMW connected website and it will ask for your VIN details and then give you the available options for your car which you can select to purchase. It depends on the model year and the options fitted as to what is available. You can pay via the website or the idrive screen.

Re: ConnectedDrive - Am I missing something?
As above its a yearly subscription. Internet access has vanished from the list now, but I still subscribe as I find it handy to be able to access email sometimes, the send address to satnav is useful, BMW concierge is handy, especially for sending satnav addresses to car when on the move, and findin...

Re: Winter wheels and tyres
You can also use the BMW wheel and tyre configurator to hget the reccomended OE wheel sizes and styles, and tyre makes and sizes, then look for the correct wheels and tyres cheaper elsewhere.........

Re: E70 quality enhancement front driveshaft ‘recall’ 2012-2014
I’ve got an appointment for Saturday 30 December for my E70 to be checked and supposedly “repaired” if necessary at my main dealers - the spin they put on it is that it is a universal joint issue, not the shaft “that is a different issue and your car is not one of those affected madam”. Ho hum. T...

Re: Winter/All Season Tyre Help Please
Possibly, possibly not. You have a 66plate car so will definitely need the sensors. With these new cars, it is no longer quite as simple as buying some cheap used alloys and bunging a set of cheaply sourced tyres on them, like I have done with our old E53 for years. If you go on the BMW UK websit...

The reason a few years ago when the original subscription site folded, was because the owner unfortunately died - and no passwords etc were accessible, plus apparently family were not knowledgeable / helpful in getting it going again. That was the reason a new site was started. What a shame the ...

Re: Why winter tyres here
Forgive my maybe daft question but in 35 yrs of motoring ive never had a car that needed winter tyres. We have this X5 now and i know i dont need tyres for winter as the cars hardly used anyway. But why cant the car simply have a set of year round tyres, its not like w...

Re: X6 E71 19” Winter Wheels & Continental Tyres £500
Would have loved them - just shelled out £660 for a new set of RFT winters for my E70. But sadly unsuitable for E70s without modification of the alloys. GLWTS, they are a good buy!

Re: Choices for a 7 seater 4x4
The VW vans will be too big for me. So looks like narrowing down to an X5 or 2 Series. Just wondering if I should go for diesel or petrol
The transporter /caravelle types fit into normal parking spaces and no bigger than, say, a Kia Sorento or a Q7 - in fact, narr...

Re: Heated seats query??
I recall someone doing a heated seat addition to an old Range Rover P38 some years ago - (these were the vehicles that X5s, particularly the E53 were modelled on and BMW bought LR /RR specifically to get the 4WD technology for their intended BMW SUV) . It was quite a major operation unless you are a...
