Early E70 diesels fall into the higher tax bands -I think 2006-2008 models.  Later ones not.  All X5Ms do as stated.

I guess you don’t HAVE to do anything......it’s your car, your call.......I know what I would do, at least call in at the dealers and check, its a free repair anyway.  And its not a QE this time........

Just to add, this is actually a recall, not a quality enhancement - the letter from BMW arrived today in an envelope edged with red and marked clearly MOTOR VEHICLE RECALL NOTICE.    The propshafts on these cars need to be changed - so please contact your dealer if you own an E70 to check if it one ...

Cars older than 5years usually qualify for the “Value” servicing offer, so early F15s should qualify now. 

E53s are worth whatever someone will pay for them these days, likely worth far more to current owner, especially if a well kept example as yours seems to be.  Lucky to get a few grand for a nice one
