An overpriced car sold by trade & long time in stock usually an SOR or their personal vehicle always for sale on off chance someone pays over the odds. Allegedly......Some Traders who have all stock sat there unsold for ages and overpriced may have other business interests behind the scenes &...

Re: HPI info
If buying damaged repaired I woiluld want before and after pics of damage / repairs and ro secure car at a price in my favour to reduce risk of negative 1 financial impact if I sold later. Buyer audience will be limited come resale so I would want to source for fair price or avoid unless deal was ri...

The door carriers break more easily in cold weather.Try to be gentle with same, treat door rubbers with a product called gummi pflege to reduce future freezing issues. Somebody prior performed a mod by placing a small amount or rubber layex glove on the cable head the carrier to reduce moisture ...

Re: 1 mph over
The Daily Express headline arguably infers that all Police want this to be a reality. The report allegedly stems from one view expressed by one senior officer & thus arguably NOT the views of every UK officer. Some may argue it is not practical to enforce &/or in the public interest make suc...

Re: E70 snow chains on front or back wheels?
Makes star rated tyres & damage to transfer box concerns a bit of a mockery.....all things considered. I would not want them fitted unless extreme pure snow environment.....but would fit to both axles or leave off. Not speaking from experience using same....never used them on any vehicle I inclu...

Take or leave my advice as you wish.....however, I suggest getting to know it before you spend on cosmetics, (you might need to spend the money sorting any niggles you may discover). Fwiw the more original looking examples tend to sell quicker &/or stronger than those that have been "modern...

Most unique looking E53 for sale
https://www.gumtree.com/p/bmw/bmw-x5-4.4i-v8-lpg/1281438949 I have seen some used X5's of questionable appearance in my time. This takes some beating for the title of most unique looking used X5 for sale Thought I would share this... I must clarify I am not linked to the sale !!!!!!!!!! Taste is a...

Re: Back on the hunt !
Fair point Horizon. The decision as to whether to buy or avoid a higher VED rate car obviously down to the individual. My personal concern buying a higher VED rated example would be potential future resale difficulties as many buying a Sub £10k car, (sensibly or otherwise) , will not want to pay tha...

Re: Back on the hunt !
Paulpen, Interesting to read your LC experience & comments. Another consideration for E53 facelift cars would be sports exclusive models which also have arch kit and 20" rims. Both the Lemans & Sport Exclusive models were shipped from late 2005 so finding an acceptable one that isn't i...

Re: Back on the hunt !
If considering a 3.0d Lemans do bear in mind all ones I have seen are in higher tax band. I think most were registered after 23/3/06 VED rate hike. Not convinced the 3.0d Lemans is absent of air to rear. My understanding is that all UK E53 (Non iS) models were coils to front and self leveling air to...
