Re: Increased Battery Discharge
Thanks guys. Just rang my local dealer (Chandlers)and they have the one you mentioned X5sport in stock for £181.81 +VAT (so £218.17 for most of us!). I did wonder about connecting a trickle charge to the jump points under the bonnet before disconnecting the old battery. I presume I'd lose all manner...

Re: Increased Battery Discharge
I was going to start my own very similar post so I hope you don't mind me posting here. ;) Here's the battery in my car which I'm guessing is original and Carly seems to agree: https://i.imgur.com/tMn34Pd.jpg https://i.imgur.com/NDS6JKb.jpg I can't find that part number anywhere so thought this batt...

Re: 2010 30d M Sport - Carbon Black Diary
To get the 'follow-me home' lights (I think they're called), you have to have the headlight switch set to auto. I think the car is smart enough to turn bits off when the battery is low so that could be happening. Interesting comment about the AUC warranty possibly covering the battery. I occasionall...

Re: E53 or E70, which one?
Replying to agree with dgms's points - do it! You might find the E70s a bit underpowered compared to your E53. I did when I moved from my mapped E53 even to the 40d...although m/s mode is fun ;) Also to add, wow that's strong money for a high mileage E53! I think UK prices for second hand cars gene...

Re: SSD HDD upgrade
Interesting stuff - thank you ^-^ I have a couple of 120GB SSDs hanging around and was keen to try this out until I realised that the CIC disk is IDE. I know you can buy IDE SSDs but I wonder if this adaptor and an IDE disk would fit behind the front panel: https://www.amazon.co.uk/SATA-Female-44Pi...

Have either of them been mapped (by you or a previous owner)?

Re: Newbie from Ireland - Looking to put in an Aux to listen to iphone music
My E53 had an aux port buried on the right hand side of the glove box (inside).
Apparently it was a dealer fit thing, bloody stupid place to put it!
Just thought you might want to check in case there's already one in there

Look a great car. Well done!
Re. the rear wiper, I found the one on my E53 did that occasionally, new wiper blade or not. My (cheap-ass!) 'fix' was to lube the hell out of the moving parts, especially the spring.

Re: Bluetooth Music Connectivity
I've got a 2010 facelift 40d and don't have the ability to bluetooth stream, obviously not a standard feature. I think I need a 'combox' which I don't have.
Not too bothered as there's loads of other ways to connect!

Re: Tyre pressures for 21" setup
On my 2010 40D with staggered 20" wheels I put 2.5 bar in the front and 2.7 bar in the rear (that's about 36 and 39psi).
Although I have got 7 seats and usually an 80Kg dog in the back!

Re: Carly App
I've got 2 bluetooth adaptors and although both seem to connect to Carly neither find any ECUs.
I know Carly is fussy (i.e. crap) with most bluetooth adaptors, is anyone here using a non 'official' one?

Re: Head Up Display
I've got the speed limit option on my HUD - I didn't realise it worked (!) via a front facing camera. I thought it went off the data on the NAV. I've just updated my maps to 2017-1 and was sure some of the limits were more accurate, I must have been imagining things! Where's the camera? Sorry for th...
