Re: new rear tyres

I'm in a similar situation except I'm going to have to replace all 4 tyres. I don't find the ride too rough (even on 20" tyres) so am going to stick with run-flats, and I can't find * rated non-runflats anyway. Having spent far too long researching what tyres to buy, I'm going to get the Bridge...

Re: New (to me) car time

Very nice.

Re. the smoking my E53 used to smoke on kickdown. A full tank of Shell V Power and it never did again.

Re: Tyres

I'm having a similar sort of dilemma with my E70 with 20" staggered wheels. The current tyres are Dunlop and their longevity has been terrible but that's partly down to the slightly aggressive setup the X5 came with so I'm looking at Bridgestone...and a geometry reset. It was so much easier wit...

Re: New X5M (F85)

Wow - epic spec.

I've been looking at a few of these recently. Looking forward to the pics :-)

If you're able to PM the numbers I'd be very interested too! (fully understand if you don't want to.)

Re: New battery time

I changed mine last year. Just popped into local main dealers, pretty sure I paid similar price to your battery. Fitted it myself and with the money saved bought Carly and the adapter ;-) I did have a trickle charger connected while changing but that didn't stop the errors similar to yours appearing...

Re: Anyone ordering a G05 X5?

Shmee's viseo is pretty comprehensive:

Got to sit in one the other day, it's night and day better than the F15s inside (and I prefer the look of the G05 on the outside too :fuelfire: )

Re: Bridgestone or Dunlop

I've currently got Dunlop Sport Maxx GT and I'll be looking at swapping all 4 of them in the next couple of months (20" staggered).

I've got very poor life out of them, partly due to BMWs slightly OTT camber/toe settings, so I'm interested in what other people are running too.

Something to do with settings for that screen?
Have a look at page 19 here:

Anyone ordering a G05 X5?

Some impressive NCAP tests on video here:

Some cool crash avoidance tests too.

So, has anyone ordered one yet?!

Are they out yet?

I thought the new X5 looks very similar (if a bit smaller!) to this and I like that!

Re: X5 3.0 or 40d 3.0

I've got a 2010 40d and I think my road tax is £290 (*edit* ah I can see above reply!)

I've also got a pano roof and it's been faultless in the 3 years I've had the car...but I am paying monthly for a BMW warranty

Ooh, the rare Australian model :drinking:

Love the colour of those seats too. I've tuned down an X5M that had had white seats and I hate vets forearm colour too :)

Re: Current road speed limit sign on dash

I've got the speed limit on my HUD, fantastic. I assumed the speed limits were coming from the Nav data until it was showing the correct limits on the variable bits of the M25!

There's definitely a camera behind the rear-view mirror on mine.

Re: Decided to try Dunlops

Interesting I've got 20" staggered Dunlop Sport Maxx GT on my X5 and I was thinking of putting Continental ContiSport Contact 5 on.

The rear inners are quite worn after only about 10k, so I'm going to getting proper tracking done first!
