Re: Pulling to Left
Hi, I had this years ago with a Jeep Grand Cherokee. It pulled to the left and they tried about 7 times to fix it, in the end I gave it back to them . I may be wrong , but NO car is designed to pull to the left ( or right ) . If it won't run straight or can't be made to run straight then there is so...

Re: Tyres
Hi, I have stuck to the Dunlops as they came as std fitment on my E70. I have found them really good and have never struggled for grip or had any "moments" with them and i do drive in a spirited fashion. Currently on Pirelli scorpion 20 RFT 's" winter tyres and they are really good to...

Re: Newbie
Welcome, Not a chance. I had a sud in the late 80@s . Woke up one morning thinking someone had stolen it. On closer inspection there was a brown patch and a steering wheel left on the drive. It had rained that night and I came to the conclusion that it had dissolved. Im just pleased I never hit any...

Re: Tyres
Hi, Good point well made. However its clear to me given my experience the rating was worth diddly squat . I paid the extra to have them fitted on the drive. For the record The Premier Mobile fitting had the highest rating of all. 5 starts . I would give them zero. This was a re-scheduled appointme...

Re: Tyres
Hi, Use Dunlop sport maxx..............no the GT. Also I wouldn't use Black circles. Had terrible experience with them + arrogant fitter. Read the many horrid trust pilot reviews. Shit company in my experience. I used Kwik fit .com ( Kwik fit mobile). Before you go mad, they are a separate company ...

Well done..............keep the v8's alive. One observation that's interesting BMW came out with the E39 M5 back in 1999 . Mine has 130 K on the clock and if you drive it like you stole it does 18.5 MPG. ( and has done consistently the 12 years I have owned it . If you drive it like miss daisy @ 70...

Hi, Been there got that t-shirt. E tyres do repair run flats but can't repair the 315 rears as their machines cant handle tyres that big. Thats fact by the way , been there done that. Repair the tyre yourself. Just buy a tyre plugging kit on line , under £10 and its easy to do it yourself. It is eas...

Re: Replacing Rear Brake Pads with 27000 miles left on them ?????
Hi, I have a 40d E70 . I can confirm my rear disks and pads gave up the ghost before the fronts. Interestingly the dealer ( BMW ) reported that the front disks were nearly at tolerance and would need changing soon. Turned out the rears were far more worn and needed doing almost immediately. They ne...

Re: diff and transfer box oil
Hi, I would change them @ 60K . I may be wrong ( but don't think I am ) but sealed for life in car manufacturers speak I think means 60K miles. Try getting BMW warranty for something over 60 K on the clock and the premium is stupid. Anyway , I have a few frds in the trade and you won't believe how m...

Re: What suspension do i buy now?
Hi, Tough question to answer. Its personal preference. Rear suspension is self levelling ( if you use the bags ). Thus if you want a firmer ride at the back go for the sport bag or if you want it softer / more comfortable go for the normal bags. Also are you running run flat tyres or normal ones. ?...

Re: Wheels and tyres for snow chains for 2005 x5
Hi, +1 for the Vredestein Wintrac Extreme tyres. If it were me , I would buy a second set of alloys which for an E53 is cheap enough and fit the Vredestein Wintrac Extreme tyres. I would use std sizes..........255/285 X19's . I used exactly that on my E53 when I had one , changed the wheels myself ...

Far be it for me to interfere and I am in no way as eloquent and diplomatic as AW8 , but I do just have one observation. I have 2 kids , and yes they are older now, but back in the day an X5 was a far more practical car for Kids+ associated crap you carry ( and trust me there was loads of it ) than...

Hi, The gearbox god demands you repent and your penance is 5 sport changes and and 10 manual ones................ Seriously , don't beat yourself up. Unless you read the handbook ( assuming you have one ) or someone shows you or you read about it, there are many things these cars can do and you c...
