Re: yet ANOTHER wheel/tyre thread...

I'm not an expert but did pick a few things up from buying a set of winter tyres and rims last year. My comments - 1. The rims are 18 inch (your current are 19). That's a good price. I paid £400 for the same service six months ago at a specialist indy I use in Shrewsbury and was delighted (2004 4.8is at 46k).Cheapest dealer I could find was over £600 and , frankly, I have more confidence in the indy to do the work properly.

It is a pain lugging out the wheels but does at least give me a bi-annual opportunity to clean both sets of wheels properly and inspect the tyres closely. I ...

Re: Sorry another tyre thread

Rick, I too have a 4.8iS. I bought it from a BMW Dealer approved used about a year and a half ago. It had 28k and had original Diamaris on front and a pair of brand new Bridgestone Dueller on rear. Dealer told me rears had about 3mm left but under approved used scheme they had to replace them. Repla...

Well done on getting this up and running

When the old site disappeared I was very disappointed and have finally found this. Well done to those of you who put the effort into keeping it going - quite the most useful source of information on E53. I see a number of the familiar moderators going strong. I look forward to a weekly read and comm...
