starter motor change

Hi can anyone tell me how difficult it is to change the starter motor on a 2004 3.0 diesel please,can it be done without putting it on a ramp etc,many thanks

hi shadrack,really like the pipes are they plumbed in or false want the same for mine but looks like a lot of pipe bending and welding also if piped in does the back get really filthy anyway think look ace.

good morning,
can anyone tell me that when i buy new pads for the front of my e53 they come with a new sensor lead or do i have to buy that seperate,also is there any how to articles on doing job? i found one for rears but not fronts,many thanks in advance

hi guys, is it possible to identify what type of starter motor is fitted to my 54 plate 3.0 diesel facelift, mine seems a bit graunchy so i would like to get hold of a secondhand one to recon,wondered if it can be done off chassis number,dont have time to take to dealer at the moment,any help gratef...

Just a quick one, i had the same problem start engine no power stop after short run was fine but black smoke, took airfilter out found it had been fitted wrong the sealing part had bent in pressumably slowing the flow of air to the maf sensor replaced the filter with powerflex one has been perfect s...
